The film YYZ focuses on the feelings of rootlessness and loss of identity that often accompany immigration. For Omolola and her family, their first night in Toronto was spent in Pearson airport that night full of anticipation, expectation, and fear.
DIRECTOR BIO:
Omolola Ajao (Lola Rachel) is an emerging Nigerian-Canadian woman screenwriter, student & filmmaker. Her films center on an array of topics, largely revolving around the intricate and intimate dimensions of Blackness. She is infatuated with topics of culture, identity, love, that centers on the Black diaspora and so much more.
